[FAQ] Common Errors

Hey everybody,
lots of you try to apply hacks for the first time, so instead of repeating the same identical things over and over I decided to put all the frequently asked questions in a post, hopefully they will come in hand:

I applied the hack but the game crashes
First of all, make sure you are using the same version the hack was created for.
Then, if the hack requires you to type some commands in MobileTerminal, make sure that none of them return any error. Then just respring your device or restart it.

Do I need to type the command one by one in MobileTerminal?
No, there is an alternative, but you need a computer.
The alternative is called "iFunBox", a freeware software that you can download from Google.
Just plug your device in your computer and open iFunBox; then, on the left menu, click on "SSH Terminal" and copy&paste each command. Remember that each command has to end with the ENTER key.

How do I replace the original file with the edited one?
iFunBox come in hand for that also. You can get into your game folder by using the left menu "User Applications". Then just drag and drop the downloaded file on that folder. It will automatically replace the original file for you. If you want to do that with iFile, just download "Safari Download Enabler" from Cydia and open the download link with Safari. It will then ask you if you want to open it. Do that and choice "iFile" when asked for that program you want to open it with. Then click the "Edit" button on the top-right corner of iFile, tap on the blank paper icon on the bottom, choice "Cut", tap "End" and move to the game folder. Then tap on "Edit" again, then on the blank paper icon and click on "Paste". It should ask you if you want to overwrite the file. Do that.

I can't download the file with Safari, what can I do?
Just get "Safari Download Enabler" from Cydia and try again.

"ldone: command not found"
Just install LDONE from Cydia. If you can't find it, add http://cydia.hackulo.usto your repositories.

How do I change permissions for a file with iFile?
Open iFile and go into the folder containing the file you want to change permissions for. Click the right arrow on that file and scroll down until you see "Attributes". If "Owner" or "Group" are set to "root", then you probably want to set them both to "mobile".

What hacks can I use with my jailbroken device?
Jailbroken Devices and hacks that have the possibility of working if the file destination is in:
Var/Mobile/Applications/AppName/Documents
or
Var/Mobile/Applications/AppName/Library
or
Var/Mobile/Applications/AppName/AppName.app
or
Library/MobileSubtrate/DynamicLibraries
or
"Installer".deb hacks
or
game saves and plist edits
or
binary/ms

What hacks can I use if my device is NOT jailbroken?
Non-Jailbroken Devices and hacks that have the possibility of working if the file destination is in:
Var/Mobile/Applications/AppName/Documents
or
Var/Mobile/Applications/AppName/Library/Preferences
or
game saves and plist edits
